Felt Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Felt (“the app”, “we”) is a personal wardrobe app. This policy explains what information Felt handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: your wardrobe belongs to you, we collect the minimum needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

What Felt collects

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider, Supabase). You can optionally enable two-factor authentication; the TOTP secret is held by Supabase Auth.

Wardrobe and journal content. Clothing items you add (names, brands, categories, colors, seasons, occasions, notes), photos of your clothing and of you wearing it, outfit journal entries (including how an outfit made you feel), style profile details you choose to share (skin tone, undertone, colors you avoid, style notes), and trip details you enter when building a packing list.

Without an account, everything above stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Where your data lives

AI features and the Claude API

Felt’s styling features (outfit suggestions, packing lists, shopping analysis, resale listings) are powered by Anthropic’s Claude API. When you use one of these features, the relevant wardrobe details — item names, categories, colors, your style profile, recent journal context, or a product page you’re viewing (browser extension) — are sent to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic to generate the response. Item photos are not sent to the AI. Anthropic’s API terms prohibit training on this data by default. AI responses are suggestions generated by a model and may be imperfect.

The browser extension

The Felt browser extension activates when you open its popup. It reads product details from the shopping page you’re viewing to compare them against your wardrobe. It does not track your browsing history; page content is processed only for the analysis you request.

What we don’t do

Your choices

Data retention

Synced data is retained until you delete the item, entry, or your account. Server logs and AI-response caches are short-lived and automatically expire.

Children

Felt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app and update the date above.
